Photo Of The Year Contest

I’ve gotten several emails from people asking me if I’ll be doing a Weather Calendar for 2011. Unfortunately the economy of printed calendars has become untenable as a charitable fund-raiser, so sadly the answer is no Northwest Weather Calendar. But happily, I’m now involved in a photography project that will be even more fun, raise more money to support education locally and be more inclusive. Because YOU get to throw your pictures into the mix. It’s called the Photo Of  The Year Contest.

Like photography? Want to put your pics up against other amateur shooters? Submit your pictures online at Photo Of  The Year and get a shot at the $500 grand prize. But best of all, proceeds benefit the Multnomah Education Service District’s Outdoor School.

Go to http://www.photooftheyear.net to submit your pictures and for all contest details. And guess what? There’s a Weather category for anyone going through Northwest Weather Calendar withdrawals. Like me.

Happy Picture Making,

Matt Zaffino

    Hey Matt
Your Civil War forecast vooms into a Reser Stadium picture taken greater than 5 years ago. Give the Beavs a break, the stadium looks much better than what you show

    My response:

    Hey Jon,
As soon as Google Earth updates it’s imagery of Reser, I will too. Right now that’s all I have to work with.

Just so you know… it’s not a slam on the Beavers. I went to neither OSU nor UofO and I root for both.
    Best,
    Matt Zaffino

I’m glad you’ll be raising funds for the new calendar, Matt, but will really miss the NW Weather Calendar. Maybe I’ll enter an old photo or two I have taken in CT … we’ll see if they win or get published ;) BTW, Love the blog and photos of Turkey!

It’s a good thing Matt that you are collecting funds as well as thinking of raising the level of education among the poors, who can’t afford to go to school…I will also try my best to help you in this by uploading my best clicks of traveling…
